  • The Bible is full of all kinds of generes of literature. One of the most common, but often under-utilized is narrative. In narrative we are able to place ourselves inside a story and gain a whole new perspective and understanding as we relate to, empathize with, and consider the humanity of the characters.

In this five part message series originally preached in January and February at City North Church, we're taking a narrative look at a man named Joseph. He is one of the most important characters in Genesis, the first book of the Bible, and his story is one filled with all kinds of betrayal and injustice. While the circumstances may be different, those are things we can probably all relate to on some level. Yet, as we walk through his life we'll gain some really important insight and understanding of how someone survives the deepest betrayal and repeated injustice without letting it consume and control them, just like Joseph did.
