We're Andrew and Vanessa Scholz. Andrew has been a Christian as long as he can remember. He grew up in a great Christian home and has always served God through the local church. God called him to ministry at 15 and he has spent the last 15 years preparing, learning, serving, and working toward this time and leadership opportunity.
Vanessa is an incredible wife and mother. She has a servant’s heart and loves to do whatever she can to care for other people. Her spiritual gifts include mercy and hospitality and she uses those gifts as a wife and mother, and also in her career as a social worker.
Brooklyn is two and a half, and acts 100% like her dad. This may or may not end up being a good thing, but it definitely keeps the family laughing and on their toes!
Mason will be one in April, and currently is most interested in sleeping and sending the family into bankruptcy due to his appetite.
City North Church began as a little tiny dream in the summer of 2015. It was a dream we never expected and never imagined, and it was borne out of tremendous pain and heartache. Like most God-given dreams it wasn't something that rose out of a book or an article, but came from deeply personal place.
We know how it feels to be disconnected from God and His purposes for life. But God met us there, in our pain, and He gave us new life, a new vision, and a renewed purpose to create a church for people just like us. People wandering. People searching. People who need connected to God and His purpose for their lives. City North Church was born out of the very pain and heartache we are committed to healing. This is God’s story in our lives, and now we have made it our life’s purpose to help other people through find God's purpose in their lives.
We will not stop connecting the disconnected to God and His purpose for their lives. It's what God made us for.
